We have made it easy to access legal advice with just a few clicks!
Our team of legal advisors are ready to advise you, and we make an effort to quickly answer your questions via Teams. This means you can receive professional guidance in the comfort of your own home or office, without the need for time-consuming travel or waiting.
Whether you are looking for guidance in family law, tenancy law, contracts, property law or other legal areas, professional help is now just a click away. We are fully aware of the complexities and challenges that legal matters can present. Therefore, our primary goal is to ensure that you can easily and conveniently access qualified legal advice, exactly when you need it.
The pilot scheme will run in 2025, where citizens who are far from a legal aid office can receive free legal advice online.
Initially, we offer our online legal advice to:
We are continuously working to expand access to online consulting so that even more people can benefit from this offer.
Please note that we cannot offer advice to people residing outside Denmark. If you are outside the country, we recommend that you contact relevant legal aid services in the country in which you reside.
We reserve the right to reject a person seeking legal advice if we become aware that the conditions are not met. In such a case, we would like to advise you to appear in person at Aarhus Legal Aid or contact the nearest legal aid or similar service.
You can find an overview of legal aid offers here or by contacting the Danish Civil Service Agency.
We use Teams for online counseling. When you book an appointment for online counseling, you will receive an email with a link to the meeting. You can participate via your computer, tablet or smartphone - all you need is access to the internet.
How it works:
Please note that we cannot help with technical questions about Teams. If you need help, we recommend that you visit Microsoft's official support page.
In order to provide you with the best possible advice during your online conversation with Aarhus Legal Aid, we recommend that you have relevant documents and papers ready in digital format. Counselors and employees employed by Aarhus Legal Aid are bound by confidentiality. This means that they are not allowed to speak to others about you and your situation. However, counselors are allowed to talk internally (i.e. with each other and the responsible manager) about consultations and the questions that arise from the consultations.
All conversations with an advisor are confidential, and we do not use social security numbers when providing legal advice.
The only exception to the duty of confidentiality is the duty to notify and the duty to prevent.
If we become aware that a person's life is in danger or a young person under the age of 18 is being neglected, we have a duty to act on this knowledge.
Please note that it is extremely rare for us to encounter these situations. If it does happen, we will try to find a solution in cooperation with you. In extreme cases, we may be forced to notify the municipality or the police.
